I was born and raised in Waterloo Region, and I’m a proud graduate of our public school system. I know firsthand what WRDSB schools can offer the strengths, the opportunities, and the areas where we can do better. Today, my children are growing up in the same system that shaped me, and their experiences motivate me to stay involved and pay attention to how our schools are evolving.
 

I graduated from WRDSB in 2005, and the changes I see today are significant. Students face challenges that didn’t exist when I was in school, and many families perceive the focus has shifted away from education, extracurriculars, and student development. I believe schools should return to their core purpose: helping young people learn, grow, and develop their skills and talents. Education should be the priority, ensuring students have the tools, resources, and supportive environments they need to excel.
 

Professionally, I’ve spent nearly twenty years in the construction industry. As a project manager, I oversee complex projects, manage budgets, coordinate trades, solve problems under pressure, and ensure work is done safely, transparently, and on schedule. These skills can be of service and support the responsibilities of the school board, which manages major capital projects, renovations, long‑term planning, and significant public budgets.
 

Historically, WRDSB has had very few trustees with construction or project‑management backgrounds. My experience gives me a practical understanding of oversight, accountability, and how large systems should function behind the scenes. I understand how decisions made at the board table affect classrooms, buildings, and the people who use them every day.
 

Waterloo Region is my home. It’s where I grew up, where I’m raising my family, and where I’m committed to contributing to a stronger, more transparent, and more responsive public school system. I value respectful dialogue, steady leadership, and community‑focused decision‑making. And I’m always open to hearing perspectives from people across the Region.
