Respect, Openness, and Honesty: Families deserve clear, straightforward communication. Parents and caregivers should be informed, respected, and heard. They should never be left in the dark, guessing about decisions that affect their children and the quality of their education.
 

Education First: Schools should focus on teaching, learning, and helping students grow. Politics and ideology should not overshadow the core mission of education. Every student deserves the chance to develop their strengths, explore their interests, and build the foundation for a bright future.
 

Accessibility and Inclusion: Education should be welcoming and accessible for everyone, regardless of religion, race, or gender. While it’s impossible for every person to feel perfectly included at all times, we should make every reasonable effort to make people feel respected and their voices heard.

Evidence‑based decision‑making Decisions should be grounded in data, research, and real‑world outcomes, not trends, pressure, or guesswork. Students, families, and staff deserve thoughtful, informed leadership.
 

Accountability and Stewardship: Public dollars are provided to the WRDSB with the expectation that they will be used responsibly. Budgets should be clear, transparent, and focused on getting resources into classrooms where they actually support learning and make a real difference.
 

Community‑Focused Leadership: The WRDSB Board of Trustees should at all times be connected to the people it serves. Listening, engaging, and being open to different perspectives are essential to building trust and making decisions that reflect community needs.
